The Public Services Staff Commission was an independent non-statutory body, established to work in social partnership with public service employers and trade unions.

The Staff Commission developed advice and guidance to Welsh Ministers and public service organisations in Wales on workforce issues arising from public service reforms including local government reform.

In March 2018, the Staff Commission closed and the Workforce Partnership Council will take forward the programme of work completed by the Staff Commission under new arrangements. The advice and guidance published by the Staff Commission remains relevant.
